Obama Inauguration

So much for the inauguration! It was a rather hectic and busy time over here in Washington D.C. Well...by the way, if anyone reading this didn't know, now I'm living in the US capital. Pretty cool thing to be able to attend the inauguration, an event that otherwise I would have seen on TV.
We decided to go to the event quiet late. We were not even considering being there for hours and hours before the event even started, so we thought that being there around 11 should be enough. I don't regret the decision: being there for just over 3 hours was enough to grasp an idea of the whole thing. And enough to be there at the most important moment: President Elect Barack Obama being swearing in as head of the state. People here were amazed, lots of hope in everyone’s eyes. From people just staring to others in a rather festive mood, from babies to grandfathers.
So, “without much further ado”, here are some pics of the inauguration.

The inauguration was a perfect oportunity for groups trying to
break the message abouth their concerns to the people

When only one flag is not enough: grab a bunch...and paint your face!

The Uncle Sam look is also good to keep warm...
